An authentic iron Nagamaru-gata (oval) Tsuba from the Edo period, reflecting the style of the Nara or Hamano school.

The smooth iron plate is decorated in high-relief Takabori with gold, copper, and silver Iro-e inlays. It depicts the Zen figure Jittoku holding his traditional broom beneath a branch, with small stone details in the foreground. Given its dimensions, this piece was made for a Wakizashi or a Tanto.
